Our Story
Who we are
We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.
We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible.
We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.
Our approach
Our Mission
Our mission is to make sure all young people and children get all the support they need, when they need it, no matter what it is.
Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.
Our Vision
We want to build a world where no child or youth feels alone and gets every possible help they need as soon as possible.
Where Childhood Compassion Became a Lifelong Mission
Livestrong Foundation India exists to ensure that no child fights cancer alone— especially not because of financial or social barriers.
How Livestrong Began
Livestrong Foundation India was not born from a moment. It was born from a childhood.
Co-founder Hridaan Jhunjhunwala grew up watching his maternal grandfather—the man he admired, learned from, and considered his mentor—battle illness. During long hospital visits at Tata Medical Centre, Hridaan often accompanied his mother, who spent most of her time caring for her father.
Too young to be left home alone, Hridaan became a familiar presence in hospital corridors, OPD waiting areas, and patient rooms—missing school, but gaining something far deeper: perspective.
While adults spoke in hushed tones, Hridaan did what children do best—he made friends. He played with young patients, shared chocolates, biscuits, toys, and laughter. Birthdays were celebrated together, and slowly, hospital visits became bonds.
His grandfather, even while unwell, guided him gently—teaching that kindness should never be about sympathy, but about empathy. About standing beside someone, not looking down. About giving back, always.
As Hridaan grew older, these childhood instincts matured into purpose. What once began with chocolates and birthday cakes evolved into medical assistance, nutrition support, celebrations, and care for families who had nowhere else to turn.
Two Families. One Bond. One Shared Purpose.
Co-founder Sanjana Bhajanka brings her own deeply personal connection to cancer. Her mother is a cancer survivor, and Sanjana has lived the emotional reality of watching a parent fight the disease.
Sanjana’s mother and Hridaan’s grandfather have been close friends for many years. Their families shared hospital visits, conversations, fears, faith, and hope. Cancer did not just connect their stories—it intertwined their lives.
When Hridaan decided to formalise his efforts and build a foundation that could reach more children, Sanjana joined him—not just as a supporter, but as an equal partner and co-founder.
Together, they lead Livestrong Foundation India as equal partners—balancing heart with responsibility, emotion with execution, and compassion with consistency. They believe real change happens not through institutions alone, but through people who care deeply and act consistently.
Care Beyond Treatment
Livestrong Foundation India supports underprivileged cancer-fighting children by addressing everything that surrounds treatment—medical needs, nutrition, emotional healing, learning, and family empowerment.
We don’t believe in sympathy alone. We believe in empathy—the kind that shows up, sits beside you, and asks, “How can I help?”
A Movement Built on People
Livestrong is not built only on large donations. It is built on people who care.
Someone celebrates a child’s birthday. Someone teaches art or yoga. Someone sponsors a meal. Someone donates funds—small or large. Someone simply spends time.
Every act matters. No contribution is too small when it comes from the heart. Together, as a community and as a family, we are committed to changing lives and shaping a more compassionate society.
